TORONTO - Hundreds of Ontario New Democrats gather in Hamilton this weekend for their first convention since last fall's election, and an automatic leadership review.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath won't make any predictions about the leadership review she'll face on Saturday morning.
But Horwath says New Democrats are feeling good after increasing their seat count last October and helping hold the Liberals to a minority government.
She says you never know what the results will be when you're being judged by your peers.
Horwath rejects suggestions she angered some New Democrats who feel she's abandoning the party's left-wing roots to move to the political centre in hopes of forming government.
She quotes new federal party leader Thomas Mulcair, who faced similar criticism, as saying it's not a matter of moving the NDP to the centre but of moving the centre to the NDP.
The NDP convention kicks off tonight with a speech and performance by "Waving Flag" singer K'Naan and wraps up Sunday with a speech by Mulcair.
