"He was a good kid."
So says Sue Timbrell, a neighbour in the same apartment building where Connor Stevenson was killed.
"I have nothing bad to say about him," adds Timbrell. "He was an amazing kid, well mannered. I didn't see him with the wrong crowd, you know?"
18-year-old Connor Stevenson was stabbed to death in a stairwell in the apartment complex at 2020 Jasmine Crescent around 5 p.m. Tuesday April 14, 2015. Stevenson lived there with his mother.
Laurie Beaudoin shared her grief on her Facebook page. "My son Connor was murdered," she wrote. "I wanted to tell everyone that he was the best person I have ever known."
The young man was a recent graduate of Gloucester High School. Students who knew him reacted to the news.
"Just the other day we were talking about joining the rugby team again," says Baseer Iqbal. "And I heard the news yesterday and I was really disappointed and sad."
"Yeah, he's a great kid," adds Osman Doreh. "He's one of those people who you could talk to him and he'll always make your day. It's tragic that we lost him."
This is the second homicide in Ottawa in 2015.
The major crimes unit of the Ottawa Police Service say they have no suspect yet, and have not released any information about a possible motive.
