TORONTO - Ontario's New Democrats have made their final series of demands in exchange for supporting the Liberal government's budget and avoiding another election.

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says there was nothing in the Liberal budget to help the unemployed, so she wants a $250 million job creation tax credit.

Horwath also wants the Liberals to keep Ontario Northland in public hands and help sectors affected by the budget like horse racing and tourism.

The NDP earlier said they wanted the Liberals to impose a new tax on people making over $500,000 a year and to take the eight per cent provincial portion of the HST off of home heating bills.

Premier Dalton McGuinty has so far refused to respond to the various demands from the New Democrats, saying he wanted to see all their proposals at once.

The Conservatives have vowed to vote against the budget, so the Liberals need at least two NDP votes or the minority government will automatically be defeated.
