The battling finance ministers from Ontario and the federal governments may be ready to trade snarls for smiles.

Jim Flaherty has accepted an invitation from Ontario counterpart Dwight Duncan to talk about the Ontario economy face-to-face.

A Duncan spokesman says the minister hasn't received Flaherty's letter yet accepting the invitation, but is interested in a meeting.

Prior to the recent Ontario budget, each side was snapping at the other over how to best manage the wobbly Ontario economy.

Flaherty still insists the best way is to slash business taxes while Ontario prefers to invest in business.
