The Heritage Advisory Committee has unanimously voted down a plan to move the Horticulture building at Lansdowne Park. City council will have the final say later this month.
The committee is against recommendations from city staff which call for the 96-year-old building to be moved128 metres to the east. The plan is to slide the building on tracks to its new location.
The Horticulture building is currently boarded-up and hasn't been maintained. However, proposals to move the building have been met with stiff opposition.
This summer, the Heritage Canada Foundation put the Horticulture building on its list of top 10 endangered heritage spots.
