The Gatineau Olympiques doubled up the Val d'Or Foreurs 6-3 Saturday night, but they couldn't exhale until late in the third period.

A 4-2 lead was cut to one goal by Foreurs (21-28-4-4) winger Alexandre Durette three minutes into the third, setting the stage for a tight finish.

Garrett Clarke gave Gatineau (20-24-4-4) some breathing room with 86 seconds left in the game when he fired a shot past Francois Tremblay, then Alex Zafiris completed a hat trick with milliseconds to play,

Gatineau had opened up a 3-0 lead on Clarke's first of the game, a power play marker 3:42 into the second period.

Val d'Or then scored three of the next four goals to make it 4-3.

Francois Lacerte got his 19th win of the season by stopping 16, while Tremblay made 21 saves.

The Foreurs didn't score on eight power play opportunities while Gatineau scored three times on eight chances,
