The unemployment rate in Ottawa-Gatineau is now at its lowest level in six months.
Five-hundred more people were working in the capital region in the month of September.
Unemployment fell to 4.8 percent in September compared with 5.1 percent in August.
However, the technology sector is bucking that trend, with continued and significant job losses.
In September, 1,700 technology workers lost their jobs.
Over the last year, more than 8,000 in the sector were given pink slips.
