After 30 years of playing the capital in venues big and small, the Tragically Hip thrilled a sold-out Ottawa crowd Thursday night as fans came from far and wide to say goodbye.
Canadian Tire Centre was the second last stop for The Hip's “Man Machine Poem tour”.
The Hip announced in the spring that frontman Gord Downie has terminal cancer. However, the band said it would embark on its planned cross-country tour across Canada.
Fans from as far away as Vermont and Cape Breton, N.S. travelled to Ottawa to say goodbye to the band on Thursday.
The band's setlist showcased their wide-ranging catalogue, including hits from their debut album Up to Here all the way to their latest offering
The Hip's last stop on the tour is Saturday night in Kingston.
