One woman is dead after a car lost control on Highway 401 and spun out of control and into the path of an eastbound tractor trailer.
OPP say the woman was a passenger in the car. She has been identified as 38-year-old Ludmila Sram of Richmond Hill, ON.
The female driver was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 401 eastbound remains closed between North Augusta Road and Maitland Road.
OPP say the highway was slippery at the time.
Police responded to a number of collisions on Highway 401 during the morning rush hour.
