The wait for the opening of Ottawa's SuperEX is over and many are wasting no time to check out the new rides.

This year's SuperEX features 60 rides, hundreds of exhibits and shows, a major poker tournament, along with the second annual Capital Magic Festival.

"We have lots of entertainment. We have six stages active all the time - the Capital magic festival, the agricultural show. There's just so much to see and do for the price of admission," said Dave Presley, SuperEX president.

Free concerts on the main stage also include Kim Mitchell, Glass Tiger, post-grunge rockers Default, country singer Shane Yellowbird and comedy duo Bowser and Blue, among others.

SuperEX, which has been a fixture in Ottawa for more than 100 years, runs from Aug. 14-24 at Lansdowne Park. Admission passes cost $12 for adults and $7 for kids under 12. The ride-all-day pass is $35.
