St. Albert Cheese is on top of the British Empire for the second year in a row.
St. Albert won the Grand Champion Cheddar Cheese title, at the 87th annual show held in Belleville, Ont. St. Albert’s extra mature cheddar won this year.
For more than 100 years, cheese makers have been bringing their best to the show. In recent years, many of the Ontario cheese factories have closed down, forcing the show to look for other competitors in Quebec.
St. Albert’s win is great news for the company, after the majority of their operation burned down in 2013. They rebuilt a new factory and cheese museum.
