Ontario Provincial Police are calling the incident at Bon Echo Provincial Park a tragedy.
Chris Curry, a 26-year-old from Ottawa, is presumed drowned after he jumped off a 50-foot ledge and hit several rocks on the way down.
Police say friends were doing the same at a lower level, and witnessed him land in very deep water at about 6:30 Saturday night.
His body has not been found and an underwater search is underway.
The park is located two and a half hours west of Ottawa, just north of Kaladar.
