Ottawa police are canvassing the area surrounding Trend-Arlington Park, near Greenbank Road, after a young girl was allegedly sexually assaulted while walking home from school Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a white male allegedly grabbed the girl from behind when she was walking through the west-end park between 2 and 4 p.m.
The suspect is described as unshaven and between 20 to 30 years old. He is between 5'7" and 6' tall and was wearing blue jeans, a white hat and sunglasses at the time of the incident.
Police say this is the third suspicious incident reported in the Trend-Arlington Park area and are investigating to determine if the cases are related.
In the meantime, police are advising parents to make sure their teenage children avoid the park and surrounding areas unless accompanied.
