In a battle of teams looking for their first W-League championship, the undefeated Ottawa Fury fell 6-1 to the Atlanta Silverbacks in Seattle Sunday night.

The Silverbacks, who only lost one game all season, scored in the ninth minute when Megan Tomlinson headed home her third goal of the tournament.

Ottawa's Melissa Busque almost equalized midway through the half, but her strike went just wide of the net.

Atlanta would be up 3-0 at half, the third goal coming on a penalty kick after Courtney Wentzel got ejected for a foul in the eighteen-yard box.

W-League MVP Mallory Outerbridge broke the shutout four minutes into the second half for her league-leading 22nd goal of the season, but the comeback attempt was cut short when Susannah Dennis scored her second goal of the game.

Tomlinson would add another on her way to being named championship MVP.

Ottawa finished the regular season and playoffs with fifteen wins and one loss.

The six goals they allowed in this game was one more than the five goals they allowed in the entire regular season.
