NEW YORK - The Ottawa Senators have recalled goaltender Robin Lehner from the club's American Hockey League affiliate on an emergency basis.
Lehner will serve as Craig Anderson's backup for Saturday afternoon's game in New York against the Rangers.
Regular backup netminder Alex Auld is out with an undisclosed injury.
Lehner has 4-2-0 record with a 2.77 goals-against average and a 0.927 save percentage in six games with the Binghamton Senators this season.
The 20-year-old Lehner, who is seen as Ottawa's goaltender of the future, made his NHL debut last October against the Montreal Canadiens. He also helped Binghamton win last season's Calder Cup.
Auld is 0-3-0 with 4.90 GAA and a .830 save percentage in three games this season.
