Another ingredient - and a spicy one - was added to Ottawa's municipal election stew Friday. Terry Kilrea registered to run for Ottawa city council in Bay Ward.
The seat was held by Alex Cullen, who is after Mayor Larry O'Brien's job.
Kilrea got 40 per cent of the vote here last time. Since then, he was a central figure in the case that saw O'Brien acquitted of influence peddling.
Kilrea -- the ninth contender for the seat -- says people increasingly can't afford to live in Ottawa because of rising taxes and user fees, and adds if both he and O'Brien win, he'll have no problem working with him.
The municipal elections are October 25.
