The man who accused Ottawa's mayor of influence peddling is running for council.
Terry Kilrea says he will run for the councillor's job in Bay Ward. However, he has not yet filed his papers. The ward is currently held by Alex Cullen, who is running for mayor.
In 2006, Kilrea entered the mayor's race and dropped out before voters went to the polls. At the time, Kilrea said he left the race because of financial constraints.
In 2007, Larry O'Brien was charged with two Criminal Code counts, following a nine-month police investigation.
The probe stemmed from allegations O'Brien offered to help Kilrea get a job with the National Parole Board in exchange for dropping out of the race. O'Brien was acquitted of those charges last summer.
