A paper mill that employed 330 people in Gatineau is closing its doors, permanently.

AbitibiBowater employees were told Tuesday that the mill would not reopen after it closed its doors earlier this year.

The paper company, based out of Montreal, is shutting down two mills in Quebec. More than 550 employees worked out of the two locations.

The future of the Gatineau paper mill has been in question since spring. AbitibiBowater has been under court protection from its creditors for more than a year.
