The father of a missing Carleton University student says he is losing hope of finding his 18-year-old daughter alive.
Nadia Kajouji has been missing since March 9 after she returned to Ottawa from spending a week with her family in Brampton, Ont.
Kajouji's parents say she was depressed and not acting herself in the days leading up to her disappearance.
Although it is unclear what may have happened to the teen, Ottawa police say they do not suspect foul play.
A marine underwater team started searching the water near Carleton University Thursday at the request of Kajouji's father, Mohamad.
He says Nadia had planned to go for a skate before she went missing and her skates are missing from her room. He says that's an indication his daughter didn't intend to harm herself.
A $50,000 reward continues to be offered for Kajouji's safe return.
Kajouji is described as having dark skin and shoulder-length brown hair with blonde streaks. She is 5'8 and 130-pounds. Her eyebrow and tongue are pierced.
Anyone who has any information on Kajouji's whereabouts is asked to contact Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, ext. 3726.
