Hockey fans are the latest target for the Leave the Phone Alone campaign.
"We're trying to interact with the most people possible," says Ottawa Police Sgt. Denis Hull. "We're looking at 19,000 fans."
The campaign warns people about the dangers of texting and driving. It asks people to take the 21-day pledge to leave the phone alone while you're in the car.
Those who take the pledge are also given thumb bands they can wear while driving to remind them not to text.
"So far we've been getting very good feedback," says Hull. "People are loving the thumbs bands, loving the idea."
Enforcement is also continuing in the hopes the message sinks in with drivers in the capital.
