Zellers returned to Ottawa today at the former Bells Corners location.
There were long lines at the cash and shoppers said they were excited by the retailer's return.
The new store focuses on fashion clearance and home products. Many shoppers said it was similar to the Winner's brand of stores.
The Zellers retail banner belongs to the Hudson's Bay Company which sold most of the leases throughout Canada to Target.
Target has opened on Merivale Road, Kanata, Billings Bridge and Place D'Orleans.
Zellers still has stores in British Columbia and Toronto.
