At least two units have been severely damaged after a rowhouse fire in Ottawa's west end Thursday evening.
Fire crews were called to a home on Abaca Way in Stittsville around 5:48 p.m.
Officials confirm the blaze spread to a second unit."Even though there is supposed to be a fire separation between the units, it was able to breach and cause substantial damage," said Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Sean Tracey.
Neighbours say everyone made it out okay. Fire offficials confirm seven people and a pet dog have been displaced.
Damage is estimated at $700,000. The cause is under investigation.
