Residents are gathering tonight at the Hintonburg Community Centre to review the bus detour designs intended for Scott and Albert streets during LRT construction.

Many local residents have voiced concerns about the potential negative impact tthe detours could have on the neighbourhood. The detours are expected to last at least two years, between 2016 and 2018.

Increased traffic, noise, congestion as well as safety concerns for pedestrians and cyclists have all been raised as possible issues that will result from more than 2,000 transitway buses using Scott and Albert streets.

Many residents are urging the city to reconsider the strategy.

The city is expected to present the community with a final version of the plan in the spring.
