Ottawa Police have charged three people with a total of 33 offences following an incident on Morisset Avenue Saturday where shots were fired.
Police were called to the 1400 block of Morisset Avenue around 6:55 a.m.
Police say no one was shot, but they recovered multiple shell casings on the road between 1411 and 1416 Morisset Ave.
Ottawa Police Duty Inspector Mike Maloney said a man in his mid-30s who was apparently at a party at 1416 Morisset Ave. was robbed and assaulted by several people, and suffered injuries to his head from being hit with a broken bottle.
Maloney said the man then made his way outside, where shots were fired on the street outside of the residence .
Officers responding to the scene were told that suspects fled into an apartment building at 1411 Morisset Ave., which is across the street from 1416.
Ottawa Police have charged a 17-year-old from Ottawa with eight firearms-related offences as well as attempted murder, robbery, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled suspect and failure to comply with the conditions of an under taking .
25-year-old Abdirachid Mohamed, of Ottawa, has been charged with 11 firearms related offences.
28-year-old Melissa Labranche, of Ottawa, has been charged with 8 firearms related offences and one count of failure to comply with the conditions of a recognizance.
Police say a handgun believed to have been used in the incident was seized as a result of the execution of a search warrant at 1411 Morisset Avenue.
