Quebec police are investigating a single-vehicle crash north of Montebello Saturday night that left one teen dead and another fighting for her life.
The crash happened around 8:30 Saturday night on Highway 323 in Lac-Des-Plages, QC, a community about 45 minutes north of Montebello.
Sûreté Du Québec police say it appears the driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old man, lost control of the vehicle after trying to avoid hitting at least one deer on the road.
The vehicle swerved into a ditch and flipped over.
The driver and the 17-year-old man in the front passenger seat suffered minor injuries.
The 18-year-old man who was killed in the crash was sitting in the backseat, as was a 17-year-old woman who suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Police have not released the identity of the teen killed in the crash.
Sûreté Du Québec is continuing to investigate.
