The Moncton Wildcats mustered a 4-3 victory against the Gatineau Olympiques Thursday night after a back-and-forth second period.

The Wildcats (17-12-2-0) went up early on the Olympiques (14-12-1-3) with two goals in the first period, before Gatineau exploded for three goals in the second.

Two of those came from rookie Adam Chapman, who assisted on Jacob Conrad's second goal of the year just over eight minutes into the period.

Twins Alex and Allain Saulnier of Cap- Pelé, N.B., scored 43 seconds apart near the end of that frame to earn the comeback win for the Wildcats in front of 3,327 at the Moncton Coliseum.

Roman Will stopped 27 shots for the home team, while Chris Clarke and Francois Lacerte split goaltending duties for Gatineau.

Each team had only one power play opportunity and weren't able to connect on either.

Gatineau's Maritime road swing continues Friday night in Halifax against rookie phenom Nathan Mackinnon.
