Christian Ouellet scored twice in a losing effort for the Gatineau Olympiques as they fell 3-2 to the Val d'Or Foreurs in a shootout Friday.

The Foreurs' (11-14-0-3) Michael Beaudry opened the scoring near the end of the first period on Gatineau (12-10-1-1) netminder Francois Lacerte.

Ouellet then scored at the 13:39 mark of the second period and 51 seconds into the third, both on the powerplay.

Val d'Or's leading scorer Benjamin Casavant tallied his 16th of the season with just under ten minutes left in regulation to tie the game at two.

In the shootout, both Vladislav Shalimov and Anthony Mantha got one past Lacerte while only Ouellet scored for Gatineau.

Lacerte made 31 saves in the loss, while Val d'Or's Francois Tremblay stopped 23 shots.

Defenceman Alex MacDonald wore the captain's C for Gatineau as Jean-Gabriel Pageau missed his first game with a broken finger. The team says he'll be out until mid-December.
