Ottawa police are on the hunt for two suspects after an early morning robbery at a Food Basics store in the city's west end.
Police say the grocery store was targeted just before 2:30 a.m. while some overnight employees were still on the job. Police would not confirm reports the employees were tied up during the incident.
"Upon arrival employees were exiting the building. We searched the building as a precaution to see if there were any suspects still in the building and no one was found," said Const. Alain Boucher of the Ottawa police.
After arriving on scene, police shut down Merivale Road between Clyde Avenue and Baseline Road to search the area for suspects. The road was reopened at about 6:15 a.m.
Investigators were still on the scene at midday. Staff told CTV Ottawa they were shaken, but no physical injuries were reported.
