A woman accused of abducting and forcing three teenaged girls into prostitution was handed a seven-year prison sentence Thursday, after pleading guilty to human trafficking in a Gatineau court.
Laura Emerson, 29, was one of two people charged last August. She and her partner were alleged to have held the young women for several months at an apartment on Boulevard Alexandre-Tach.
The girls were drugged and sexually assaulted, according to the Crown.
