OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators added some experience at the NHL's trade deadline.
The Sens acquired two-time Stanley Cup winner Martin Lapointe from the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday for a sixth-round draft pick. Lapointe has spent the last three seasons in Chicago.
The 34-year-old winger is earning US$2.4 million this year and will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
He won Stanley Cups as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in 1997 and 1998.
In 973 career games with the Wings, Boston and Chicago, Lapointe has 375 points (178-197).
