Plans to move garbage pickup to every two weeks once an organic waste program is introduced in the Capital is creating a stink at Ottawa City Hall.
Councillors say parents who don't want to keep dirty diapers around for more than one week are expressing opposition to the change.
City staff, meanwhile, says parents can resolve the issue by applying for a special diaper service.
Ottawa's composting program is expected to be in full swing by fall 2009.
