Emile Poirier and Anthony Cortese picked a great time to score their first QMJHL goals.

Poirier's marker two and a half minutes into the second period was the eventual game-winner for the Gatineau Olympiques (11-10-1-0) over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (7-15-1-1) Saturday night.

The teams matched each other with two goals apiece in the first period, with Gatineau's Anthony Cortese and Raphael Lafontaine scoring ten seconds apart.

Poirier scored the Olympiques' third goal and added an assist on the insurance goal by Cortese, his second of the game and season.

Gatineau needed the scoring depth because leading scorer Jean-Gabriel Pageau was -2 in the game and held pointless for the first time in over a month.

Francois Lacerte made 30 saves for the win, while Rouyn-Noranda's Robin Gusse took the loss after replacing Jeffrey Noonan.
