The Gatineau Olympiques and PEI Rocket flexed their offensive muscles at the Robert Guertin Arena Friday night, but it was the visitors who came away with a 7-6 overtime win.

Of the 13 goals scored, four came in the first period (a Jean-Gabriel Pageau shorthanded goal tied it up for the Olympiques at two apiece) four in the second (Pageau scored his second near the end to make it 5-3 Gatineau) and three goals in the third.

Pageau scored his hat-trick goal about four minutes into the third which made it 6-4, but the Rocket scored two goals in 55 seconds to tie the game and take it to overtime.

It was PEI (6-12-2-1) right-winger Josh Currie who scored the winning goal 56 seconds into overtime past Gatineau (9-10-1-0) goalie Francois Lacerte.

Gatineau's Chris Clarke started the game and gave up two goals on 13 shots before being pulled after the first period, while PEI's Maxime Lagacé stopped 26 of 32 shots.

Pageau, an Ottawa Senators draft pick, is third in QMJHL scoring with 17 goals in 14 games – the only one of the leaders to score more than a goal a game.

Gatineau's next game is Friday at Val-d'Or.

Notes: Currie finished with two goals and was +5; he was on ice for five Rocket goal and only one Olympique marker, which coming on the powerplay didn't affect his plus/minus… Pageau won 22 of 36 faceoffs, a 61.1 per cent rate… The 13 goals scored in this game is tied with four others for most goals scored in a QMJHL game this year, including a 10-3 win by Saint John over PEI on Oct. 22. No game in the CHL has seen more than 13 goals in a game this season.
