PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Rickard Rakell scored a tiebreaking goal in the third period and the Plymouth Whalers defeated the Kingston Frontenacs 3-1 on Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Dario Trutmann and Garrett Meurs also scored for the Whalers (8-6-2-0), while Matt Mahalak made 34 saves for the win in goal. Stefan Noesen chipped in three assists.

Trevor Morbeck scored Kingston's lone goal and Igor Bobkov finished with 30 saves.

The Frontenacs (2-11-2-1) trail only the one-win Erie Otters for worst record in the OHL.
