TORONTO - An inquest will be held into the death of an eight-year-old girl at a wave pool in Ottawa.
Edine Ilunga died in hospital after being found face down in a pool at the Kanata Leisure Centre in October 2008.
The girl was attending a birthday party at the time.
An inquest scheduled to start May 16 in Ottawa will examine the events surrounding Ilunga's death and include an examination of safety standards in public pools.
The coroner's office says the inquest is expected to last five days and hear from about 10 witnesses.
