The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled several Silk and Great Value brand plant-based refrigerated beverages due to Listeria concerns.
The bacteria can cause Listeriosis and lead to severe illness.
Jeff Farber is an adjunct food science professor at the University of Guelph.
He tells Newstalk 580 CFRA's Ottawa Now with Kristy Cameron symptoms of Listeriosis do not appear immediately.
