A somber farewell Saturday to a husband and wife who police believe were murdered by their own son.
The funeral for Dave and Merrill Rogers took place at the Metropiltan Bible Church on Prince of Wales Drive.
The pair was found dead at their home in the Carleton Heights area on November 28th, but police believe their bodies could have been there for weeks.
The couple’s adopted son, 22-year-old Cameron Rogers, has been charged with two counts of first-degree-murder.
Cameron was adopted in 1994, according to the obituary.
Family friend Barbara Martin said she was still in shock and ‘haunted by the tragedy’.
Martin said she was with the couple just a few weeks before news of the death broke. A former colleague of Merrill’s she said they shared a connection, as parents of adopted sons.
“They were devoted to their son,” Martin said. “He was the centre of their lives.”
