Firefighters were called to a ByWard Market area for a 2-alarm fire just before 4:30 this morning. The initial call was to Murray Street but found a working fire at 211 Clarence and 215 Clarence Street. One fireman was injured and treated by Ottawa Paramedics. He is now is stable condition with an ankle injury.
Clarence Street is now closed between King Edward and Dalhousie Street. Cumberland Street is also closed from Murray to York Street as firefighters remain on the scene. Police ask commuters to avoid the area.
