OTTAWA - Two people fishing in the Ottawa River had to be rescued by emergency crews after their boat began heading into dangerous rapids.
The two were out on the river Sunday when they realized their five-metre boat was heading toward the Deschenes Rapids, near the spot where a man died two weeks ago .
Ottawa fire crews launched two water rescue boats and while they were searching for the boat, crews from Gatineau, Que., across the river, located it and pulled it safely to shore.
