Hockey fans aren't the only ones to benefit from a healthy run at the Stanley Cup; local businesses are also on the receiving end of a winning team.
On Elgin Street, which has been dubbed Sens Mile, business owners say nights that are notoriously slow, often turn a profit during the NHL playoffs.
The same goes for Kanata businesses near Scotiabank Place.
David Cantor, who manages a restaurant near the arena, says his business always sees a rush before the Sens hit the ice.
He says that rush, however, dies quick when the Sens' playoff run is over.
The Ottawa Senators are set to play the Pittsburgh Penguins in Ottawa Wednesday night for their fourth game in round one of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Sens are down three games to one going into tonight's game.
