Thousands of Ottawa high school and college students will be getting bus transportation to school beginning Wednesday.
High school buses
The move comes after public and Catholic school boards reached an agreement with the ATU to run a limited number of school buses, which will serve 18 schools that normally rely on OC Transpo's 600 series of routes.
The Ottawa Catholic School Board has announced transportation for students with OC Transpo passes who attend the following high schools: St. Patrick's, Lester B. Pearson, St. Pius X, Immaculata and Notre Dame.
Students at 13 high schools in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board will also receive bus service. Those schools include: A.Y. Jackson, Bell, Brookfield, Cairine Wilson, Canterbury, Colonel By, Cedarview, Earl of March, Gloucester, Hillcrest, Merivale, Ridgemont and the Ottawa Technical Learning Centre.
The French language board is also offering bus service to four high schools and one adult school in the city. Schools getting bus service are: �cole secondaire publique De La Salle et L'Alternative, �cole des adultes Le Carrefour, �cole secondaire publique Gis�le-Lalonde, �cole secondaire publique Louis-Riel et Campus d'�tudes techniques, �cole secondaire publique Deslauriers.
La Cit� coll�giale shuttle service
La Cit� coll�giale is also offering shuttle service for its students Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. Shuttle service will be offered from downtown and east-end locations between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Route 1 will leave from the intersection of Trim Road and Highway 174 at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. Buses will also stop at Place d'Orl�ans at the intersection of St-Joseph and Champlain, across the street from Tim Hortons.
Route 2 will leave Rideau Centre at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. Buses will also make stops at the intersections of Rideau Street and King Edward Avenue, Montreal Road and Vanier Parkway, and Montreal Road and St. Laurent Boulevard.
Buses will leave campus from Building C at 10 a.m. 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. All times are approximate.
Parking on campus will also be reduced to $5 per day.
