BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Brendan Gaunce scored twice including the winning goal in overtime as the Belleville Bulls edged the Ottawa 67's 6-5 in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday.
Gaunce scored 4:42 into overtime in a game that featured seven goals scored in the first period.
Daniil Zharkov scored twice for Belleville (8-7-0), while Michael Curtis and Luke Judson had a goal each.
Taylor Fielding, Mike Vlajkov, with his first OHL goal, Shane Prince, Dalton Smith and Steven Janes replied for Ottawa (10-4-1).
The 67's opened a quick 4-0 lead in the first period on goals by Fielding, Vlajkov, Prince and Smith.
But Curtis, Gaunce and Judson scored three for the Bulls in the first, and Zharkov, who was making his OHL debut after suffering a broken collarbone in the pre-season, added one each in the second and third to give Belleville a 5-4 lead.
