Bentley, a four-year-old springer-spaniel dog who went missing in Manotick earlier this month, has been found.

The white and brown dog broke free from his collar on Nov. 2, around 10 a.m. on Main Street and hadn’t been seen since.

His owner posted to Facebook on Tuesday to share the good news.

"Our boy has been FOUND and is on his way home right now with my husband!" owner Misty Giroux said in a Facebook post.

"I cannot thank everyone enough for the outpouring of caring and action from the Manotick community. Because of all of you, our boy is back with his family who loves himself so dearly!"

Giroux says he was found "safe and sound, seemingly no worse for the wear after his Manotick adventure."

The Giroux family had left for a vacation when Bentley went missing. Not long after posting to social media that he was gone, the community came together to try to find him.

Bentley, a four-year-old springer-spaniel dog, was last seen near near the curling club in Manotick on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024.

Volunteers had been canvassing neighbourhoods despite challenging terrain in some areas. Many were hanging posters and calling out to Bentley in hopes he might emerge from hiding.

A drone search was conducted near the Prince of Wales and Bankfield area, though the heavy woodland made spotting the dog difficult.

A professional dog tracking team had also been assisting in the search.

"We sincerely thank everyone who has reported sightings, participated in organized searched or searched independently from the very bottom of our hearts," Giroux said.
