Two giant mechanical creatures are sleeping in Ottawa today as La Machine gets set to take over the capital.

Outside Ottawa City Hall, the dragon-horse LongMa is sleeping at the foot of the Ottawa 2017 Cauldron.

The two creatures are part of La Machine, a large-scale outdoor street theatre that will play out on the streets of Lowertown, the ByWard Market and Centretown until Sunday.
You will also see LongMa’s lost temple resting on LeBreton Flats, and LongMa’s stolen wings on the lawn of the Supreme Court of Canada.

It’s all part of the show entitled “The Spirit of the Dragon-Horse, with Stolen Wings.” La Machine begins at 8 p.m. at the National Gallery of Canada.

The City of Ottawa says parts of downtown and the ByWard Market will be turned into temporary pedestrian only zones over the weekend.
