Ottawa Police said today they are re-opening the investigation into threatening letters sent to dog owners in the city's east-end.

Several dog owners in the Chaperal area of Orleans have received an angry letter from an anonymous neighbour.

In one case the letter reads: "Your son cannot control your dog. As a result, your dog is on everybody's lawn. If you do not take measures, your dog's last meal will be a wiener."

Residents also say they believe poisoned hot dogs are being planted along the roadways and paths to scare dog owners away.

Ottawa police had been called to investigate on Saturday and closed the case saying there was no direct threat. Now Police say they have re-opened the file and will pursue an investigation into who sent the letters.
