A Kemptville man is facing child pornography charges after being stopped at the Ottawa International Airport.

The investigation began Tuesday evening when Ottawa Homeland Security Investigations and Customers Border Protection at the airport notified Ottawa Police of a suspected Child Pornography investigation.

Ottawa Police say during a secondary search, the man was denied entry to the United States because suspected images and videos of child pornography were found on his phone.

A media release from police say an investigation by the Ottawa Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit confirmed the mages and videos met the Criminal Code definition of child pornography.

24-year-old Brent Lanktree is charged with possession of child pornography and attempt to export child pornography.
