The Trent-Severn Waterway closes for the season Wednesday.
Waterway official Mike Jamieson says boater numbers are down by 18 per cent, although he has yet to compile the exact figures.
Jamieson says poor weather this summer is probably the main reason for the decrease in traffic.
The waterway runs 386 kilometres from Trenton at Lake Ontario to Port Severn at Georgian Bay.
