Negotiations aimed at ending the 12-day OC Transpo strike continued early Sunday evening, though no information is being given to the public as part of a news blackout.

The City of Ottawa and the Amalgamated Transit Union began sitting down with a federal mediator for several hours on Saturday.

If a deal comes, OC Transpo buses probably won't be running until late in the week. There would be limited service for the first two days before the system is fully operational, according to the city. Union members would also have to ratify before drivers and mechanics return to work.

The decision to return to the bargaining table came after a Thursday meeting between Mayor Larry O'Brien and union vice-president Randy Graham.
