The federal Conservatives are promising to boost funding for the Ottawa police if re-elected to office.
Environment Minister and area MP John Baird pledged more cash for the police following a meeting with Ottawa Police Chief Vern White Monday afternoon.
Baird said the exact amount of funding wouldn't be determined until after the Oct. 14 vote.
White has said he's looking for at least $2 million to help cover the costs of policing the capital.
