After a two-month investigation dubbed "Project Core," 13 Uppertown Ottawa residents have been arrested on drug and prostitution charges.
The Ottawa Police Street Crime Unit focused on drug trafficking and prostitution crimes in rooming houses in and near the Dalhousie community.
Main streets in this area include Bell Street North, Bronson Avenue, Lebreton Street and Somerset Street West.
The investigation took place over June and July and wrapped up on Thursday.
Of the 13 people arrested, seven were male, five were female and one was a young male offender.
Overall, 73 charges were laid related to crack cocaine trafficking, prostitution, breach of court orders and possession of proceeds of crime.
The total value of crack cocaine seized is about $4000.
Most of the people arrested have been conditionally released. The process of eviction has already started for those charged with trafficking from their homes.
Police are still looking for seven people in relation to the investigation.
